Dear Representative,
I am writing as someone who still believes this country is capable of being the shining city on a hill that Ronald Reagan described. But I no longer recognize that city.
Every morning I wake up to news of more government cuts, more infrastructure decay, and more funding redirected toward military operations abroad. We are not investing in America.
We are spending our national wealth destabilizing other countries and dropping bombs, while our roads, schools, broadband, and healthcare systems deteriorate.
President Trump’s unchecked actions on the world stage have made the United States a pariah among our allies and, increasingly, the world’s largest sponsor of state-backed aggression.
Expansionist rhetoric toward Canada and Mexico does not represent the will of the American people. We do not want a techno-empire. We want a functioning country that leads by example.
We did not lose ground to China because they are smarter or more capable than us. We lost ground because for the last fifty years, China has been investing in its own infrastructure, manufacturing, and technology — while we have been spending trillions destabilizing nations across the globe.
I am asking you directly: what are you doing to hold this administration accountable? What are you doing to redirect our national investment back into the American people?
Your silence is complicity. Your inaction is a choice.
Why do you deserve to hold office after your term expires?
Sincerely,
A voter
