Pass Epstein Files Transparency Act II - Add Enforcement

To: Rep. Liccardo, Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla

August 3

Today I take pen in hand to write snd urge your support, to Co-sponsor and vote yes on the Epstein Files Transparency Act II. The original EFTA, signed into law in November, mandated full disclosure of Epstein investigative files within 30 days. The Justice Department missed that deadline, released heavily redacted documents, and even exposed survivors' personal information while shielding the names of men implicated in the abuse. The law had no real enforcement mechanism, and DOJ exploited that gap completely. EFTA II fixes that. It gives survivors, state attorneys general, and members of Congress standing to take DOJ to court when it refuses to comply. Survivors would receive unredacted records about their own cases, including FBI interview transcripts. Perhaps most importantly, DOJ and FBI officials who knowingly conceal or falsify files would face federal criminal penalties. Attorney Roy Gutterman called it a bill with "more teeth" — that's exactly what's needed after a year of stonewalling. The victims of Epstein's crimes have waited long enough. This bill has bipartisan backing from both the House and Senate and others who understand that transparency isn't a partisan issue. Pass EFTA II and give survivors the accountability they were promised. Expose the coverup. The crimes of Epstein, Trump, and their circle of men must be exposed and prosecuted or we cannot move forward as a nation. Thank you.
