As your constituent, I’m urging you to take a stand against the ongoing abuse of executive power. President Trump’s unauthorized strikes on Iran violated the War Powers Act and bypassed Congress’s constitutional authority. There was no imminent threat, and yet military action was taken.
This is part of a broader pattern — including tariffs imposed without Congressional approval — that threatens the separation of powers and weakens our Republic.
You have long been a defender of constitutional limits on executive authority. Now is the time to act. Whether through public censure, legislation to rein in these powers, or further investigation if warranted, I ask you to defend the Constitution and the role of Congress.
