I am writing as your constituent to request that you support a formal investigation into President Trump’s Axon Enterprise stock purchase and its timing relative to a major ICE procurement contract. According to reporting confirmed through federal ethics filings and CNBC, President Trump purchased between $1 million and $5 million in Axon Enterprise stock on February 10, 2026. Fourteen days later, on February 24, ICE posted a notice seeking a five-year, $220 million contract for roughly 17,800 stun guns. While the notice does not name Axon directly, procurement reviewers and policing experts told CNBC that its technical specifications — including a 45-foot range and 10-probe cartridges — match only Axon’s TASER 10 product line. Axon supplies roughly 90% of Tasers used in the United States. I want to be clear about what is and is not established. No contract has yet been awarded, no charges have been filed, and there is no public evidence that President Trump knew about the ICE procurement in advance or that ICE officials were aware of his stock purchase. The White House states that the president’s assets are held in a trust managed by his children through independent third-party firms, and a spokesperson has denied any conflict of interest. At the same time, ethics watchdogs have raised legitimate concerns about the timing, the scale of the president’s trading activity (federal filings show more than 3,700 transactions in the first quarter of 2026 alone), and the adequacy of current disclosure and recusal rules for a sitting president with an active investment portfolio. Given these facts, I am asking you to: 1. Support a formal review by the Office of Government Ethics and/or relevant Inspector General into the timing of this purchase and the ICE solicitation. 2. Push for stronger real-time financial disclosure requirements for the president and senior officials, closing the gap between when trades occur and when the public learns of them. 3. Request that the House/Senate [Oversight/Judiciary/Homeland Security] Committee seek documentation from ICE and the Office of Government Ethics regarding how this contract’s specifications were developed. Whatever the ultimate findings, the public deserves a transparent accounting of whether financial conflicts of interest are shaping federal procurement decisions. I ask that you take this seriously and keep your constituents informed of any action taken. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
