I urge you to reject the nomination of Kash Patel as the next FBI Director. His lack of relevant experience and stated intentions to fundamentally undermine the FBI raise serious concerns about his ability to lead this crucial law enforcement agency effectively and impartially. The FBI Director role is immensely demanding, requiring expert judgment, stamina, and a strong ethical compass - qualities that Patel appears to lack based on his background and statements. Former officials have highlighted that previous FBI Directors had decades of experience working their way up through the justice system or FBI itself, better preparing them for the complexities of this position. In contrast, Patel's limited management experience, coupled with his openly partisan agenda of "decimating" the agency and turning it into an instrument of political retribution, threatens to compromise the FBI's independence and erode agents' morale. The American people deserve an FBI Director committed to upholding the rule of law without regard for partisan interests. Confirming someone like Patel, who has vowed to "prosecute" media critics and political opponents, would undermine public trust in the FBI and set a dangerous precedent of weaponizing law enforcement for political purposes. I strongly urge you to reject this deeply unqualified and divisive nomination in order to protect the integrity of our nation's premier law enforcement agency.
