Congress needs to act now to ban the President and his family from operating cryptocurrency ventures while holding federal office. Trump and his family are profiting directly from an industry that the federal government regulates, and that is a textbook conflict of interest. No sitting president should be able to launch financial products and then shape the regulatory environment around them for personal gain. Cryptocurrency must be regulated as the financial instrument it is, subject to the same securities and banking laws that govern every other investment product. Right now, the Trump family is exploiting a regulatory gap to extract money from supporters while facing zero accountability. That has to end. Pass legislation that prohibits elected officials and their immediate families from owning or operating crypto ventures, and bring the entire crypto industry under proper SEC and banking oversight. This is about basic government integrity, and I expect you to act on it.
