Representation and inclusion should be at the forefront of the Democratic National Convention. Just as the parents of an American hostage in Israel were given a platform to share their story, it is equally important to provide space for a Palestinian-American voice to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Allowing a vetted Palestinian speaker to take the main stage would send a powerful message of unity and demonstrate the party's commitment to valuing all lives equally. This is an opportunity to bring people together and have an open dialogue about finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict. By hearing diverse perspectives, the Democratic Party can work towards crafting policies that prioritize human rights and diplomacy over escalating violence. Embracing these principles would not only be morally right, but also resonate with a wide range of voters seeking compassionate leadership on complex global issues.
