I’m asking you to oppose Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker and Chuck Schumer for Senate Majority Leader, and to say so publicly. In March 2025, Republicans needed Democratic votes to advance their spending bill. Schumer told them they’d have to negotiate. Two days later, he helped them advance the bill on their terms. He had leverage when it counted, and he gave it away. When Democrats take control in January, I want someone else negotiating for us. The morning after the election, Jeffries said, “The American people don’t want us to get even.” He also promised to follow the facts and the law. What angers me is that he brought up revenge at all. I voted on Tuesday to put a check on this administration. Of course I want Congress to bring down the cost of groceries, housing, and health care. I expect my representatives to be able to work on the cost of living and investigate crimes in the same week. For two years I’ve kept a file of what this administration has done. In October, Minnesota investigators told a court they still couldn’t get the clothes Renée Good was wearing when an ICE officer killed her, or the guns federal officers used to kill Alex Pretti. ProPublica counted over 500 U.S. citizens detained by immigration agents, including at least 70 minors. Subpoena the evidence. Put the officials who withheld it under oath. If agents broke the law, refer them for prosecution, along with anyone who ordered it or lied under oath to cover it up. The families have waited long enough. Support Pete Hegseth’s immediate impeachment. He authorized a September 2025 operation against a boat in international waters and defended the admiral’s decision to strike again while two survivors clung to the wreckage. In a separate strike, Colombian fisherman Alejandro Carranza’s family says the U.S. military bombed his fishing boat. In my view, these were acts of murder and were completely unlawful. The administration accused people of running drugs and claimed the power to kill them at sea. Members of both parties have filed impeachment articles. Republican Rep. Thomas Massie also accuses Hegseth of continuing the war in Iran after Congress directed U.S. forces to withdraw. The House should vote as soon as it reconvenes. If it impeaches him, the Senate should hold a public trial. Investigate the $143 million no-bid ad contract under Kristi Noem, Trump’s private dinner for top holders of his meme coin, and the jet the Pentagon accepted from Qatar for presidential use. Where there was fraud, press for charges and get the money back. Show the American people that their votes in this election and their rebuke of the Trump administration mean something. Don’t let the party waste this momentum by defaulting back to the same old mistakes. Before the leadership votes, tell me whom you’ll back, where you stand on Hegseth’s impeachment, and how you’ll get Minnesota investigators the evidence they need.
