I am writing to express my strong opposition to the nomination of Kash Patel as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This appointment would be a dangerous step for our nation's law enforcement and justice system. Kash Patel’s record is deeply concerning. His actions as a key figure in the Trump administration, particularly in relation to undermining the investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 election and the efforts to discredit the FBI, demonstrate a pattern of politicization that is incompatible with the integrity and independence required of the FBI Director. His efforts to manipulate intelligence and disregard the principles of justice make him unfit for such an important and impartial role. As FBI Director, Patel would wield immense power over law enforcement and national security. His history of working to dismantle the very institutions meant to protect our democracy raises serious concerns about his commitment to upholding the rule of law, safeguarding civil liberties, and ensuring accountability. The FBI must remain free from political interference, with a focus on upholding justice and protecting the rights of all Americans. For this reason, I strongly urge you to oppose the nomination of Kash Patel as FBI Director. Thank you for your attention to this important issue.
