Assembly Member Levenberg,
I am a lifelong Democrat. Decades of pulling that lever, always for this party. I’m not writing as an opponent I’m writing as a constituent who is fed up, and who expects the people representing me to hear it directly.
I am shocked, disgusted, and genuinely horrified by what just happened in Albany.
Governor Hochul caved to Zohran Mamdani and agreed to raise taxes on New Yorkers who are already stretched to the limit. People are leaving this state. Businesses are leaving this state. And the solution Albany keeps reaching for is the same one that’s been failing us for years take more money from the people who are still here.
I’ll say what your leadership won’t: the problem is not revenue. The problem is outta control spending.
Govt run grocery stores at three times the private market cost. Childcare benefits for city workers at double the rate. This is where the money is going not to services people need, but to programs nobody asked for, run at prices nobody can justify.
That money belongs to working families in this district. Not to Albany boondoggles. Not to political favors dressed up as policy.
Do your job. Cut the waste. Hold the line on spending. Your constituents are watching.
I want a Democrat! Not a socialist!
