Call for an immediate ceasefire to halt the escalating violence and loss of civilian lives in Gaza. The recent strike on a displacement camp in Rafah that killed more than 30 people is a horrific tragedy. Continuing to fuel this conflict with money and weapons will only lead to more devastation. As a democratic nation committed to human rights, we must use our influence to push for a cessation of hostilities and a return to negotiations to resolve the underlying issues through peaceful means. Every civilian life lost is one too many. It is time to prioritize diplomacy over military action to prevent further suffering and work towards a just and lasting peace.
