Investigate the NSPM-7 Joint Mission Center and cut off its funding. Documents obtained through FOIA by American Oversight reveal that the FBI has built a multi-agency surveillance apparatus — including IRS Criminal Investigations agents — to target Americans whose beliefs include "anti-Americanism, anti-Capitalism, and anti-Christianity." That is not a counterterrorism program. That is a political enemies list with a badge.
The IRS has thirteen employees detailed to this center. The head of IRS Criminal Investigations has publicly said he plans to focus enforcement on nonprofits as part of this effort. Churches, unions, and advocacy groups are already being surveilled under this framework — federal agents in Minneapolis cited NSPM-7 while deploying undercover operatives against groups protesting the administration. One of the program's DOJ co-directors marched on the Capitol on January 6. This is who is deciding what counts as domestic terrorism.
Free speech is in the Constitution. "Anti-Capitalism" is not a crime. You have oversight authority over these agencies and their budgets. Use it. Hold hearings, demand unredacted records, and block any appropriations that fund this operation. History will not be kind to the people who watched this happen and did nothing.
