As devastating floods hit Texas, I’m urging you to restore funding to the agencies that predict, prepare for, and respond to extreme weather. Trump’s cuts to NOAA and FEMA have left life-saving positions unfilled and crippled our ability to respond to disasters. He’s already eliminated 1,300 NOAA staff, wants to cut 2,000 more, slash FEMA’s budget and workforce, and zero-out weather research funding—all while handing massive tax breaks to the wealthy. Texas is living the consequences of these cuts right now. If we don’t act, more lives will be lost. Congress must act immediately to reverse these cuts.
