Published reports indicate Republicans will move forward with the so-called SAVE Act in the coming days. Among other things is it said to change voter registration requirements needlessly to require proof of citizenship at the time of registration. It is also said to require that names match on identification and that those who have changed their name could face disenfranchisement. Nothing could be less Texans than hassling citizens about their voter registration. Please speak out against this wasteful measure and vote “no” should it come to a vote.
