Vote No on the Reconciliation Bill and NDAA — Pass a Stronger War Powers Resolution

To: Sen. Schiff, Rep. McClintock, Sen. Padilla

From: A constituent in El Dorado Hills, CA

August 4

Vote no on the reconciliation bill and the NDAA, and pass a stronger War Powers Resolution to rein in this president. The Cuba blockade isn't working. The pressure is not producing political change; it's just collective punishment producing suffering. No Cuban watching their power grid collapse is concluding that the United States is on their side. Meanwhile, Congress keeps writing blank checks. The Pentagon is running military operations in Venezuela, striking vessels in the Caribbean, and waging war against Iran — none of it authorized by a proper declaration of war. Secretary Rubio says Cuba has "big decisions to make," but so does Congress: keep rubber-stamping executive overreach, or finally use the power you already have. A robust War Powers Resolution with real enforcement teeth is the answer. Don't fund this campaign of economic warfare and military adventurism. Hold this president to account.
