Urgent Call for Congressional Action Following U.S.-Israel Airstrikes in Iran

To: Rep. McGarvey, Sen. McConnell, Sen. Paul

From: A constituent in Louisville, KY

June 22

I am writing to express deep concern and strong condemnation of today's airstrike on Iran’s Isfahan nuclear facility, reportedly carried out by Israel with U.S. backing. This action risks a catastrophic regional war and violates the constitutional requirement for Congressional approval before acts of war. President Trump’s involvement—or even tacit approval—without a clear mandate or oversight is an unacceptable breach of democratic norms. These escalations threaten American lives, global stability, and the credibility of U.S. diplomacy. I urge you to immediately investigate this action, enforce the War Powers Resolution, and publicly oppose any further unilateral military steps. The path forward must be grounded in diplomacy, not provocation. Congress must act swiftly to prevent deeper conflict and reaffirm its authority over matters of war and peace.
