Stop War in Iran
To: Pres. Trump
From: A verified voter in Los Angeles, CA
April 7
Stop the march toward war with Iran. Your threat that "a whole civilization will die tonight" is reckless and immoral, and the possibility of tactical nuclear weapons being used should terrify every American.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has proposed a two-week extension to allow diplomatic consultations with Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. This is the only off-ramp from catastrophic escalation. Military action has already spread across Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Lebanon, with civilians injured and displaced. Expanding this war will not make us safer.
The current trajectory leads to attacks on civilian infrastructure, prolonged energy disruptions across the region, and potential nuclear strikes that would kill millions of innocent people. It will destabilize global oil and gas markets, strengthen hardliners in Tehran, and trigger a humanitarian disaster unlike anything we've seen in decades.
Accept Pakistan's proposal. Push for immediate de-escalation and genuine negotiations. War is not inevitable, but it will be if you reject diplomacy now.
