on January 3, 2025, the Trump administration ordered military strikes on Venezuela without any congressional authorization. These bombings represent a clear overreach of executive power and violate Congress’ sole authority to approve the use of military force. Congress cannot remain on recess while unauthorized military action is underway. I’m urging you to return to Washington immediately, assert Congress’ constitutional role, and take action to halt these aggressive and illegal strikes. Please publicly oppose this unauthorized use of force and support all available measures to rein it in. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.
