Accountability, Not Enabling: Hakeem Jeffries Must Uphold the Law or Step Down
To: Rep. Pingree
From: A verified voter in Cumberland Center, ME
November 4
I urge you to make clear that Hakeem Jeffries should not be Speaker of the House unless he commits to meaningful investigations and, where warranted, impeachment proceedings concerning the Trump presidency.
This is not about vengeance or partisan retaliation. It is about accountability, the rule of law, and the constitutional responsibility of Congress to serve as a check on executive power.
The House cannot simply move on, look the other way, or continue enabling a presidency that demands serious scrutiny. Silence and inaction are not leadership.
We need representatives willing to defend our institutions, uphold the Constitution, and hold those in power accountable, regardless of party.
No more enabling this regime. Following the law is not optional, and accountability must not be negotiable.
