I am a mother, teacher, and proud member of my community in Waukesha, Wisconsin. I am concerned about recent disruptions in aid sent to countries in need, through agencies such as USAID. This aid is a small fraction of our national budget, and it can do so much good.
Not only does it provide practical, real help in places with poverty, political strife, and other issues, but it generates a sense of goodwill towards America in the world. In places such as Central America, it also increases chances that MORE people will flee their homes and seek refuge elsewhere, as conditions become worse for them and their families.
Being part of the world community means working collaboratively on the problems and real human suffering around the world. Please call for a return to our involvement with helping others through USAID and other agencies.
Thank you for your time and service to our nation.
