I am writing to demand that you take immediate action to stop U.S. arms sales to the United Arab Emirates by supporting H.R. 2059 and S. 935. These bills are essential steps toward ending U.S. complicity in the devastating violence unfolding in Sudan.
There is credible evidence that the UAE has provided weapons and logistical support to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a group responsible for horrific human rights abuses, including ethnic cleansing, mass killings, and widespread sexual violence. Continued U.S. arms sales to the UAE without accountability sends a clear and unacceptable message: that the United States is willing to prioritize arms deals over human lives.
By halting arms transfers until the UAE ceases its support for the RSF, the United States can send a powerful message that we will not tolerate the fueling of atrocities. We must stand firmly on the side of human rights, justice, and peace—not enable a foreign government’s support for paramilitary groups implicated in war crimes.
I urge you to co-sponsor and advocate for the swift passage of H.R. 2059 and S. 935. These bills are not just legislative formalities—they are a moral imperative.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.
