Please Vote NO on HB 2536

To: Rep. Burlison

From: A constituent in Springfield, MO

March 6

Dear Rep. Burlison, I am writing to urge you to oppose and vote against HB 2536 if it comes before you. This bill is deeply concerning to me because it singles out transgender people and creates laws that would make their daily lives more difficult and unsafe. Laws like this are dehumanizing and send the message that certain people in our communities deserve to be treated differently simply because of who they are. Government should not be creating policies that target a small minority of people. Instead, lawmakers should focus on issues that affect all Missourians, such as improving education, strengthening infrastructure, supporting workers, and addressing the rising cost of living. HB 2536 does not solve a real problem. Instead, it risks creating fear, confusion, and unnecessary conflict in public spaces like schools and government buildings. It could also place people in uncomfortable or dangerous situations simply for trying to go about their normal lives. Everyone deserves dignity, privacy, and the ability to exist safely in public spaces. Passing laws that specifically target transgender individuals undermines those basic principles. I hope you will stand against legislation that harms vulnerable members of our communities and instead work toward policies that bring people together and improve the lives of all Missourians. Please vote NO on HB 2536.
