I am writing as a constituent from Norwood to express my strong opposition to the current policies and practices of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). I am deeply concerned about the humanitarian, legal, and ethical implications of how ICE is currently operating.
Reports of family separations, prolonged detentions—including of children—and the treatment of asylum seekers raise serious questions about whether these actions align with our nation’s values and with fundamental human rights. I believe we can and must pursue immigration enforcement that respects human dignity and due process.
I urge you to:
• Publicly oppose harmful enforcement actions being carried out by ICE.
• Support legislation that prioritizes alternatives to detention, ensures humane treatment of all migrants, and upholds the right to seek asylum.
• Work to increase oversight of ICE to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Advocate for comprehensive immigration reform that addresses the root causes of migration and creates fair pathways to legal status.
As your constituent, I want to see our community represented in a way that reflects compassion, justice, and adherence to constitutional protections. I ask you to use your influence to stand against policies that dehumanize vulnerable people and to promote solutions that uphold the best of our nation’s values.
