Congress Must Act to Offset Economic Damage From Iran War

To: Rep. Self, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn

April 4

Congress needs to pass emergency economic relief for families crushed by the President's war in Iran. Gas prices have jumped 37% since this war began, hitting $4 per gallon. That's over $1 more per gallon coming straight out of household budgets. Combined with tariff-driven price increases on goods, working families are getting hammered from both sides. The President's own economic approval has collapsed to 31%. He was reelected on a promise to fix high prices and stay out of wars. Instead, he chose to attack Iran alongside Israel, and now 20% of the world's oil supply is threatened in the Strait of Hormuz. His prime-time address offered no exit strategy, just promises to bomb Iran back to the Stone Ages and hope the strait "opens up naturally." Markets tanked in response because investors know this war isn't ending soon. American families can't wait for the President to find his way out of this mess. Congress has the power to provide direct relief now. Pass legislation for gas price rebates, suspend the federal gas tax, and provide emergency assistance to offset these war-driven costs. Millions marched against this administration last weekend. They need you to act.
