Cowards at Best. Accomplices at Worst.

January 24
I’m writing because what happened today in Minneapolis is sickening—and because your silence and inaction are helping normalize it. A U.S. citizen, Alex Pretti—an ICU nurse—was shot and killed by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis on January 24, 2026. This is not an isolated “incident.” It’s the second fatal shooting involving federal agents in Minneapolis this month, after the January 7 killing of Renee Good. Two dead Americans in weeks—during an immigration “surge”—and we’re supposed to accept this as business as usual? No. Absolutely not. What we are watching is a federal force operating with escalating aggression, minimal transparency, and zero meaningful accountability—in neighborhoods, on public streets, in front of witnesses, with chaos and fear left behind. The reporting and footage circulating show a horrifying pattern: heavy-handed tactics, chemical agents, physical force, and then gunfire—followed by vague statements and finger-pointing while people beg for basic answers. And here’s the part that should terrify anyone who has ever pretended to care about “law and order” or “American values”: If agents can kill Americans in the street during enforcement operations and the public can’t get immediate, clear accountability—then we do not have safety. We have intimidation. So I’m asking you directly: why are you allowing this monstrosity to happen to our neighbors and fellow Americans? Why are you tolerating an armed, unaccountable “presence” that local leaders are calling a federal occupation? Why aren’t you using your office to demand answers, restraints, oversight, and consequences? Because let’s be clear: there is nothing good, decent, or justified about what’s happening here. There is no patriotic defense for masked power, vague authority, and lethal force in public. There is no Christian defense for cruelty dressed up as policy. At this point, you’re cowards at best—and accomplices at worst. Here’s what I want to see from you, immediately: 1. Publicly call for an independent investigation into today’s killing and the January 7 killing. 2. Demand full transparency: names, agencies, chain of command, body-cam policies, and all available footage. 3. Demand clear standards and restrictions for federal operations in cities—especially identification requirements and accountability mechanisms. 4. Condemn the escalation publicly and on the record—no more mealy-mouthed “thoughts and prayers” language while people die. 5. Support legislation that makes it impossible for armed agents to operate anonymously and immune from consequences. If you won’t act when Americans are being killed in the street—then what, exactly, is the purpose of your office? What is your oath worth? Stop dodging. Stop enabling. Do your job.
