I’m writing to demand that you speak out and take action against the authoritarian behavior of Donald Trump, who is openly defying the rule of law and treating the Constitution like it’s optional. His refusal to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling in Kilmar Abrego Garcia is not just outrageous — it’s the behavior of a dictator-in-waiting. This isn’t politics as usual. A former president — and current presidential candidate — is flat-out ignoring a Supreme Court order. That is a blatant assault on the separation of powers and a terrifying signal of what’s to come if Trump ever regains power. He’s already promised to use the DOJ as a weapon, purge the civil service, and consolidate control. Now he’s showing us he doesn’t even respect the authority of the highest court in the land. If Congress allows this to slide, it sends a chilling message: that Trump is above the law. That no branch of government can stop him. That our system of checks and balances is already being dismantled — in plain sight. This moment demands courage, not calculation. I urge you to be the leader this moment needs. Use your voice.
