SCOTUS is currently being petitioned to end the legality of gay marriage. There are almost a million happy families out there that this ruling would erase- parents who love their children, spouses who just want the legal right to sit by each other's death beds to say goodbye to the person they love. The Supreme Court can only set legal precedent, they don't make laws. Please codify gay marriage into the law of the land and remove a hate-filled bigot's ability to tear these families apart. Religious freedom and LGBTQ rights do not have to be mutually exclusive, as Utah found in 2021, and as a member of Congress you can protect both sides by enshrining this right in law.
