With Speaker Burrows aiming to complete Governor Abbott's agenda by Labor Day weekend, it is crucial that all items on the special session agenda receive thorough consideration and a fair vote. This includes addressing redistricting, a process that should prioritize fair representation for all Texans rather than partisan advantage. I also urge you to support immediate disaster relief funding. While Governor Abbott's office claims existing funds must last two years, the safety and recovery of our communities cannot wait. Proactive measures now can prevent more costly damage in the future. As your constituent, I implore you to remember that you work for the people of Texas, not party leadership or the President. Stand firm against any legislation that seeks to silence dissent or undermine our democratic institutions.
