I’m writing as your constituent to urge you to oppose any attempt to eliminate or weaken the Senate filibuster. The filibuster remains an essential safeguard that encourages bipartisan cooperation and prevents major policy changes from being pushed through on the basis of a narrow majority.
Removing this rule would make our laws less stable, increase polarization, and undermine the Senate’s role as a deliberative body. Even when the filibuster is frustrating, it protects minority voices and helps ensure that legislation reflects broader consensus rather than short‑term political advantage.
I respectfully ask you to stand firmly against any proposal to “terminate” the filibuster and to protect the long‑term integrity of the Senate.
Thank you for your time and service.
