Pursue diplomatic path to a just Israeli-Palestinian peace
To: V.P. Harris

The tragic loss of innocent lives in Gaza has been heartbreaking to witness. While Israel has a right to defend itself against terrorist threats, the disproportionate use of force and disregard for civilian casualties is deeply concerning. As an ally, the United States has a responsibility to use its influence to prevent further escalation of violence and uphold human rights on both sides. The indiscriminate bombing of populated areas and destruction of homes and infrastructure cannot be justified under any circumstances. A ceasefire and path to a just peace must be urgently pursued, centered on respect for Palestinian self-determination and an end to the brutal occupation. Continuing to provide military aid without preconditions enables this cycle of suffering to perpetuate indefinitely. It is time for a new approach that prioritizes human dignity, diplomacy and dialogue over militarism.
