Stop DOGE IRS Data Project

To: Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley

From: A constituent in Kansas City, MO

April 16

I implore you to assert the power given to you by the Constitution to stop the "Department of Government Efficiency" team members from accumulating our private information and do so without delay. Even you must draw the line somewhere. As this article in Wired shows, your data is at risk too. Every source of income you declare, every deduction you take, your home address, your social security number, and even your bank account number will be out in the wild for any bad actor to take advantage of to do harm to you or your family members just like mine will. There must be a line at which you find these actions unacceptable and use your power to at least try to stop it. Is this it? Good Lord I pray so. The article quotes a source as estimating their IRS hackathon will take 30 days. It's time to do your job.
