The Migrant and Immigrant Community Action Project is a nonprofit organization that provides vital legal services to low-income immigrants navigating U.S. immigration laws and courts. I fear their services may be under attack, so I am asking for your support. The Department of Justice program under which MICA operates is known as the DOJ Recognition and Accreditation (R&A) Program. It is, in essence, a public-private partnership that has enjoyed tremendous success for over sixty years. It helps the immigration system run more smoothly and efficiently, saves tax dollars, and ensures that more immigrants have a trained and qualified legal representative at their side. Nearly half of the MICA Project's legal advocates are Accredited Representatives. Protect this program so they can keep their costs low, keep staff, and provide legitimate legal representation to every migrant.
