Investigate the Trump administration's ties to Jeffrey Epstein and appoint a special counsel immediately. The House Judiciary Committee Democrats just released a report stating that "a growing body of evidence demonstrates that Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein's sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s." Five women, four of them named, say they were victimized by Epstein and that Trump also raped or sexually assaulted them. That is not a rumor. That is documented testimony.
The cover-up is just as alarming as the underlying allegations. Attorney General Todd Blanche, Trump's former personal defense lawyer, appears to have interrupted Ghislaine Maxwell mid-interview to stop her from discussing accusations against Trump. The House Judiciary Democrats say that conduct "potentially constituted witness tampering and obstruction of an official proceeding." The FBI and DOJ have continued to withhold the full Epstein files despite earlier pledges of complete transparency.
If there is nothing to hide, release the files and let a special counsel follow the evidence. The survivors of Epstein's abuse have waited long enough. A president who uses the Justice Department to shield himself from scrutiny is a threat to the rule of law, and that demands a full, independent investigation.
