Trump’s Urging to Nationalize Elections Demands Serious Consequences

To: Sen. Kelly, Rep. Hamadeh, Sen. Gallego

From: A verified voter in Phoenix, AZ

February 4

The current president has said several times that "we shouldn't even have elections" this year for midterms because he believes he is doing so well, and his mouthpieces have assured us that he is joking. We don't joke about bombs at airports. And presidents don't joke about violating the Constitution during Oval Office press conferences. This week, Trump stated on disgraced CBP official Greg Bovino's podcast that Republicans should "nationalize" elections in 15 currently unspecified states. This is not only unconstitutional, it is a violation of his oath to uphold the Constitution. You also took an oath, not to one man or party, but to the Constitution. Defend it.  Dictatorships predetermine elections. If that's not what we are now, the House has articles of impeachment to initiate and the Senate has a trial to prepare for.
