Block Foreign Detention of U.S. Immigrants and Protect Constitutional Norms

To: Rep. Gottheimer, Sen. Kim, Sen. Booker

From: A constituent in Dumont, NJ

April 17

The refusal to return Kilmar Abrego Garcia, along with recent proposals to expand the practice of detaining U.S. immigrants abroad—now targeting so-called “homegrown criminals”—is deeply alarming. These actions defy Supreme Court rulings and signal a dangerous shift toward authoritarian tactics. Such disregard for the rule of law and constitutional protections cannot be tolerated. I urge you to support impeachment efforts against those responsible and to champion legislation that bans the use of foreign prisons for detaining individuals from the United States.
