Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to Vote NO on the Pentagon's $80 billion Iran war supplemental fund request.
This wholly wasteful and unnecessary war cost lives wasted billions, and has aggravated an already unstable region of the world, and it will take years of diplomatic work to return to anything like peace.
This ‘request’ comes on top of the $1.5 trillion the White House is already seeking for the military — a nearly 50% increase over current funding levels.
That is not a defense budget. That is a blank check.
The numbers don't add up and they keep changing. Last month, Secretary Hegseth told Congress the war cost $29 billion. Now the ask is $80 billion.
Before that, the Pentagon floated $200 billion. Other members of Congress have already warned the real price tag could go even higher.
Meanwhile, families here at home are being asked to foot the bill for a war a large majority opposed, and there’s still no credible accounting of where the money goes.
This incompetent administration claims the war is over.
There is no justification for rubber-stamping an $80 billion spending surge with the continuous lying, no transparency, and this much uncertainty about what comes next.
Hold the line. No money for the Iran War.
