Congress must provide leadership in ending the war with Iran. Trump’s Sunday cease fire does not improve on the terms of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal that Trump tore up during his first term. He described that agreement as being “bad.” In fact, this cease fire is “worse” than the 2015 agreement. This cease-fire simply restores the Strait’s status quo that existed before Trump started his ill- conceived war. Trump’s only war accomplishment has been to decrease America’s standing in the world.
