Vote no on the White House's $87.6 billion funding request for Operation Epic Fury. Congress already passed a war powers resolution instructing the president to end this military action — the first time Congress has ever done that. Approving this money now would make a mockery of that vote and hand Trump a blank check to continue a war he started without congressional authorization.
Senator Bill Cassidy put it plainly: "You have not told the American people what's going on. This was supposed to last four weeks, it's lasted four months. Our original objectives have not been achieved." The Pentagon has already burned through $29 billion, and defense analysts say even that figure is understated. There is a ceasefire in place right now. The White House wants $67 billion more — including $12.1 billion for classified programs with zero public accountability — to "rebuild stocks" for a war Congress just voted to end.
Don't fund it. Hold the line on the war powers vote and reject this request.
