Re: The Social Security Administration

As a result of your actions and inaction, the Social Security Administration has been plunged into chaos. More than 7,000 expert staffers have been forced out, and wait times are unreasonable for the 10,000+ seniors who retire every day. Seniors' health care is at risk too with these cuts, with SSI (Supplemental Security Income) and SSDI (Social Security Disability Income) benefits also administered through the Social Security Administration. Social Security has stood strong for 90 years. We deserve the Social Security Administration to be fully staffed so that it continues delivering the benefits that Americans earn with every paycheck. I expect you to publicly demand that SSA Commissioner Frank Bonsignano reverse his decision to end paper checks for 700,000 people, particularly at a time when SSA will struggle to handle the volume of assistance that that disruption will create. The Social Security Administration has always been remarkably efficient when compared to private pension companies. As we celebrate Social Security’s 90th birthday, you owe it to us to protect the Social Security Administration and fight to expand Social Security benefits, never cut them.
