The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) serves a crucial role in safeguarding consumers from predatory practices and ensuring fairness in the financial marketplace. As a beneficiary of the CFPB's actions, I firmly believe that prioritizing corporate interests over the wellbeing of the public is misguided and harmful. Corporations, despite their influence, should not be equated with individuals, as former presidential candidate Mitt Romney suggested. The government's primary responsibility lies in protecting and serving the interests of its citizens, not catering to the whims of the ultra-wealthy and large corporations. Dismantling or undermining agencies like the CFPB that advocate for consumer rights would be a disservice to the American people. I urge you to resist any efforts to dismantle the CFPB and instead work to strengthen its ability to fulfill its mandate of safeguarding the public interest.
