I strongly urge you to reject the nominations of Matt Gaetz for Attorney General, Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence, and Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense. These individuals lack the necessary qualifications and experience to effectively lead their respective government agencies. Matt Gaetz was under investigation for potential sex trafficking until recently and faced allegations of sexual misconduct and illegal drug use from the House Ethics Committee. Having someone with such concerning ethical issues lead the Department of Justice would severely undermine public trust in our legal system. Tulsi Gabbard has no formal intelligence experience, yet is nominated to oversee 18 spy agencies and a $76 billion budget. Her controversial stances sympathizing with autocrats like Putin and Assad raise serious doubts about her ability to safeguard national security interests objectively. Pete Hegseth also lacks relevant experience to serve as Defense Secretary overseeing the military. These nominees prioritize personal loyalty to the president over professional competence vital for such weighty roles. Confirming unqualified, controversial nominees risks compromising the integrity and effective functioning of key government institutions. I implore you to thorough vet these candidates and reject them if found lacking the expertise and ethical standing their prospective offices demand. Upholding high standards for Cabinet nominations is crucial to ensuring good governance.
