Chuck Chuck: Schumer has to go! I attended the Bernie Sanders/AOC rally in Los Angeles last weekend. 40 thousand mostly young, energized constituents, with a fire burning in their belly for change. This is the future of the democratic party. A future where we talk candidly about the thorny (and now literally insane) problems we face trying to keep our democracy afloat, and actually help the people that make up this country; business, sure. But not at the expense of the people, the laborers that move our economy forward, the families they support, the libraries and colleges that train the next generation of innovators, the retirees who paid into the system in good faith year after year after year. Chuck Schumer is part of a dysfunctional past, he has been a Caretaker of the Decline. Senator Schumer’s decision to surrender his leverage and greenlight the Republican funding bill was a stunning betrayal of every activist fighting to stop the Trump-Musk coup. Americans deserve more than empty gestures—we deserve a real opposition party. The era of bipartisan cooperation is over, yet Schumer still clings to a playbook that no longer applies. This moment demands a Minority Leader who understands the stakes and is willing to fight like hell to defend our democracy. We need new blood in the house, in the senate and in the DNC. There is a ravenous hunger for candid, people-focused leadership, and a tidal wave of support to whoever can step up and channel it. Do not squander this opportunity, do not douse the fire in the bellies of all of the disenfranchised, the terrified, the resolute. Schumer has failed to meet this moment. It’s time for him to step aside and make way for leadership that won’t back down. If he won’t step down, Senate Democrats must act to remove him and to select a new Minority Leader. Everyone must call for change. Our democratic institutions are on the line. It is time to rise up, and use this crises to create a fairer, more equitable world. There is a cabal of billionaires working around the clock to make the world into a cold, merciless machine of death and despair. We are counting on you to be sand, not oil in the machinery of fascism. We are counting on you.
