I appreciate your votes to resist the illegal and inhumane efforts of the Trump administration. But your constituents need more: we need you to speak publicly, loudly, consistently to address issues that are not (yet) subject to your vote. You must do more to remove the escalated federal law enforcement agents from DC, withdraw all National Guard members currently deployed there, and end the emergency period allowing for redirection of MPD resources. Specifically, I ask you to support the termination resolution introduced by Rep. Jamie Raskin and Senator Chris Van Hollen, and reject any bill attempting to extend the length of time that Trump is allowed to redirect MPD resources. This is an active military takeover of the nation's capital and a dangerous precedent that could impact every American in every city in this country. It is more than a threat to DC residents, it’s a threat to us here in California. This is something that no functioning democracy should ever allow. Thank you.
