An Open Letter
To: Sen. Scott, Rep. White, Rep. Biggs, Sen. Graham Nordone, Sen. Cromer, Pres. Trump, Gov. McMaster
From: A constituent in Prosperity, SC
October 14
To: President Trump, Senator Tim Scott, Senator Darline Graham Nordone, South Carolina Congressional Delegation, Senators, and Representatives, I am writing to demand you introduce actively support legislation creating a federal transparency system consisting of two connected platforms built on one secured hub. The first system is public. It must itemize every penny of federal, state, and county spending — every department, agency, program, and all entities that utilize taxpayer funds — and make that information fully searchable by any citizen from any device. We the people must be able to view a detailed, itemized accounting of every penny spent from Washington to all fifty states, including every penny and half-penny, and see exactly where it landed. The second system is secured. It provides authorized state and federal officials access to the same underlying data, with a formal process that allows state officials to dispute spending and flag it as inappropriate or abusive. Congress must be charged with ensuring that neither the federal government nor the states misuse public funds. When disputes cannot be resolved at the administrative level, they must be elevated for proper oversight and, when necessary, judicial review. This dual system must enable real-time tracking of spending flows, the ability to flag misuse, and formal standing for any state to challenge how another state spends federal dollars. Every taxpayer in this country is affected by that money. We the people must also have a clear, direct channel through this system to communicate with every member of Congress. Transparency must be the rule, not the exception. No more scattered databases. No more incomplete records. I further demand that SpaceX, through its Starlink network, be contracted as the technical infrastructure partner for this hub. Starlink is the largest and most advanced satellite network on Earth and the leading provider of secure, high-speed global connectivity. Under a competitive, transparent, and congressionally overseen contract, SpaceX would supply the network backbone that makes real-time public access possible from any state, any county, and any device. The government would retain full ownership and control of the data. This is a contracted infrastructure role of the same type the federal government already uses with private vendors for critical systems. Congress already funds USAspending.gov, yet that platform is incomplete, underused, and excludes state and county data. This proposal builds directly on that foundation by requiring mandatory participation from every level of government and establishing a single, reliable point of access for the American people. We demand this get introduced to legislation without delay;respond with your position and a clear timeline within thirty days. If I receive no substantive response, I will escalate this demand to congressional delegation, the relevant oversight committees, and the public record.
