Require ICE to unmask and display clear identification

To: Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez, Sen. Cantwell, Sen. Murray

From: A verified voter in Camas, WA

December 15

I urge Congress to require Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to clearly identify themselves during all operations. Agents should be required to display visible identification, including name or badge number, agency affiliation, and to wear unmasked faces except where narrowly justified for safety. Communities have a right to know who is exercising government authority. When federal agents operate without clear identification, it undermines public trust, creates fear, and increases the risk of abuse or impersonation. Transparent identification protects civil liberties, enhances accountability, and also safeguards legitimate law enforcement officers. Congress must act to establish clear, enforceable standards for ICE identification and conduct. No federal agency should be allowed to operate in secrecy when interacting with the public. Please support legislation that ensures transparency, accountability, and respect for constitutional rights.
