Do Not Support any Funding for the Ballroom

To: Sen. Schmitt

From: A verified voter in Springfield, MO

April 29

I am writing to urge you to withdraw your support for the White House Safety and Security Act of 2026, which would allocate $400 million in taxpayer funds to construct a ballroom at the White House. This is an indefensible use of public money. President Trump himself stated the project would be funded through private donations and, by multiple accounts, that private funding has already been raised. There is no justification for shifting that cost to taxpayers, particularly at a time of record national debt and deep cuts to programs that serve working Americans. I urge you to represent the people of Missouri by opposing this bill.
