Oppose DOJ Motion Blocking Release of Epstein Files

To: Rep. Self, Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz

From: A constituent in Plano, TX

January 19

I am writing as a concerned constituent to express my strong opposition to the Department of Justice’s recent motion seeking to block the appointment of an independent monitor to oversee the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files in the Ghislaine Maxwell case. The public has a right to know the full scope of Epstein’s crimes and the potential involvement of powerful figures who may have enabled or participated in his actions. By arguing that no court or law can require them to disclose the files, the DOJ is effectively asserting that it is above oversight and public accountability. This position undermines both the intent of the Epstein Transparency Act and the public’s trust in our justice system.I urge you to speak out against this motion and to support efforts ensuring the release of these files under independent supervision. Congress must defend transparency and the rule of law—especially when government agencies attempt to place themselves beyond scrutiny. Please take action to demand accountability and uphold the public’s right to the truth
