The proposed federal budget bill guts services that keep Americans alive, healthy, and in possession of their human rights. Senators, there is no democratic strategy that can justify allowing this bill to pass. You yourselves will be insulated from the immediate consequences, but your constituency won't be. I ask you to fight as if you yourselves were going to be made homeless or denied health care. I have not seen the kind of bravery from my elected officials that I have seen from everyday Americans who are trying to survive this administration. But I still have hope that your representation and leadership can make a difference.
