Reject Fear and Division—Invest in People, Not Power Plays

To: Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Scanlon, Sen. McCormick

From: A constituent in Wayne, PA

April 7

I urge you to take immediate, decisive action to stop the Trump campaign’s reckless assaults on our institutions, people, and place in the world. In recent weeks, we’ve seen science grants revoked, disability and education programs slashed, and legal immigrants—including students—targeted with baseless visa revocations. Asylum seekers are being treated as pawns. U.S. support for Ukraine is wavering while dictators are emboldened. Meanwhile, sweeping tariffs threaten global cooperation and hurt American families, workers, and businesses alike. We are global citizens. Our leadership should reflect that—not isolate us. Congress must act now to: • Restore scientific and medical research funding. • Protect legal immigrants and treat asylum seekers humanely. • Stand firmly with democratic allies and oppose authoritarian regimes. • Reject damaging tariffs and foster global economic collaboration. • Safeguard education, disability rights, and human dignity. • Defend equality for all—regardless of nationality, gender, orientation, or belief. This is a pivotal moment. We need leaders who protect democracy and humanity—not tear them down. Do your job. The world is watching.
