WE ARE SICK OF SPECTACLE MASQUERADING AS LEADERSHIP

““What a difference a year makes,” Jim Jordan said at the top of the House Judiciary Committee proceedings yesterday. “Under Attorney General Bondi, the DOJ has returned to its core missions — upholding the rule of law, going after the bad guys and keeping Americans safe.” Really? Watching AG Bondi’s ‘testimony’ yesterday showed America exactly who it is that suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome. And it ain’t the Democrats. It was hard to keep track of what was most important to her, insulting Democrats or praising Trump. Because those were the only two things she came prepared to do. In between she referred to herself as a career prosecutor. She said that she cares about victims and called Epstein “that monster.” Then she urged victims to come forward. She was a prosecutor who handled these kinds of cases. She should know that victims won’t come forward to talk with the FBI, having seen how Epstein victims are being treated. Asked to acknowledge Epstein’s victims she refused to apologize. She has never arranged interviews with DOJ, something the survivors all requested but have never been granted. She wouldn’t even turn around to acknowledge their presence at the hearing. She said that victims whose names weren’t redacted should contact DOJ to fix it. But their names and information shouldn’t have been exposed in the first place. Bondi thinks the burden should be on the survivors to let DOJ know it made a mistake and to get it fixed. DOJ had a legal obligation to protect the victims. It was even provided with a list of names that needed to be redacted. In some cases, they redacted one or a few, but not all of the victims’ names. This level of carelessness is hard to attribute to mere negligence. The repeated errors of this magnitude are beginning to take on the appearance of intentionality. Or complete incompetence. These errors make it clear to victims that if they come forward with information about the wrong people, their personal safety could be compromised. In the end, everyone in the room and watching at home saw that Bondi’s DOJ works for one client above all others, Donald Trump. The question remains, if there is nothing to hide why are there still many names redacted in the supposedly unredacted files Congress is being allowed to see? The DOJ’s continued coverup is only fueling the fires they hope will just go away. Meanwhile, all we the people see is a complete abdication of duty on the part of Pam Bondi. Plus a level of insolence, rudeness, shamelessness, and a master-class in sycophancy by someone who used to know better. ““You don’t tell me anything, you washed-up loser lawyer,” she said in response to questioning by Jamie Raskin. “You’re not even a lawyer.”” This is what rock-bottom sounds like.
